EPCAM+CD45+ cells in ascitic fluid of patients with ovarian cancer: a relationship with tumor marker levels and tumor grade

Purpose of the study: to assess relationship between atypical/hybrid forms EpCAM+CD45+ cells in ascitic fluid ovarian cancer patients and levels markers, such as CA125 HE4, tumor grade. Material methods. The study included 48 with newly diagnosed (42 stage Ic–IV 6 borderline tumors (Bots). age ranged from 36 76 years. material blood samples. presence was identified by laser multicolor flow cytometry. HE4 markers were measured ELISA. Results. number serous carcinoma 1.02 (0.30; 2.68) cells/µl (0.55 (0.03; 4.51) low-grade (LGSC) 1.36 (0.41; high-grade (HGSC). shown have a strong correlation СА125 serum (R=0.60; р<0.01 R=0.34; р=0.05, respectively). In LGSC group, there direct (R=0.93; p<0.01 R=0.68; p=0.03, No differences CA125/ HGSC found. significantly lower Bots than (p=0.02 for СА125/ levels). Conclusion. However, no markersin observed.
